Eman Dahmani, APRN, CRNA
Certified Aesthetic Nurse Injector
Pristine Rejuvenation is the brainchild of Eman Dahmani, a board-certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and certified Aesthetic Nurse Injector with over 15 years of experience. Eman’s innate desire to improve others’ quality of life was the driving force that eventually materialized into a passion for medical aesthetics. Following certification and training from top industry leaders, such as Erika Barry, NP-C, MSN, and Hania Khorshidi, NP-BC, MSN, as well as receiving multiple certifications in medical aesthetics, Eman has become widely sought after for her anti-aging expertise and practical approach to beauty.
Born in Louisville, KY but raised in New Orleans, LA, Eman’s parents emigrated from Libya in the 1970s so her father could pursue a PhD in chemistry through an international studies program.
Eman’s eldest sister, who lived in Michigan & was a pediatric ICU nurse, inspired Eman to try her hand at nursing school. Eman moved to Michigan & attended Eastern Michigan University where she earned her nursing degree and soon after began working in an Intensive Care Unit. Three years later, she set her sights on becoming a Nurse Anesthetist and enrolled at Oakland University, graduating in 2012 with a Master of Science in anesthesia.
“I think I’ve always been drawn to a career that would help other people,” Eman explained. “There’s an aspect of nursing that you don’t really find in other careers. There’s a lot of gratification in helping people in need, and you also get a lot of personal fulfillment through interactions with patients and their families. It’s not just medical – it’s being there for patients.”
Eman worked at a Level 1 trauma center, so she’s no stranger to intense situations. And she praised the hospital for its very innovative approach to various treatments.
“I worked in the open-heart unit,” Eman said. “We pretty much had the sickest of the sick. We dealt with a lot of new technology that other facilities just didn’t have.”
A reigning theme throughout Eman’s nursing career has been her constant affinity for one-on-one interactions with patients, something she graciously carries over into her aesthetic role. That said, the high stress and emotional/physical demands in the hospital setting led her to entertain the idea of pursuing her own business. She thought very hard about what to do, and it soon dawned on her what would make the perfect fit.
“Knowing a lot of people who do aesthetics and getting the treatments myself for years, I thought aesthetics would be a wonderful next step,” Eman said. “I started out on a part-time basis. As a busy mom myself, my initial business model was to do all mobile treatments to cater to other busy moms. That was my selling point – your place, your time.”
She started Pristine Rejuvenation in 2020 amid the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the hospital only seeing emergent cases, Eman worked in the ICU COVID unit, while the limited case load allowed her time to pursue her mobile business. Even despite the pandemic, Pristine Rejuvenation began to gain momentum and eventually helped Eman make a name for herself in the industry. Though she still loves anesthesia, her new role in aesthetics just seemed like a natural fit, as she explains.
“There’s nothing more gratifying than making people feel good about themselves,” Eman said. “And that type of interaction you don’t see as much in the medical field. People really appreciate what you’ve done. For some people, it can really be life altering. Not only is it gratifying, but I also enjoy doing it.”
Her nursing background still provided great benefit for her new business venture. It was through her extensive training in anesthesia that she gained in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology, which translates to valuable experience as far as those aspects of medical aesthetics.
“In anesthesia, injecting is second nature to us,” Eman explains. “We typically know, even if it’s just by feel or using ultrasound. I already knew the concept of injecting very well. For example, with facial fillers, there’s a lot of anatomy involved in terms of safety. Knowing that anatomy well and understanding what to do in the rare event of an emergency is extremely valuable. These treatments are ultimately medications that you’re giving. Even though it’s aesthetics, it’s still a medical procedure. So I thought that would be a perfect fit for me…and I get all those treatments done myself.”
Regardless of what procedure a patient seeks from Eman, everyone gets a complete evaluation with emphasis on education so there are no surprises.
“I want to get to know my patients and find out exactly what they’re wanting to improve,” she said. “Then I give them options. Sometimes it’s not just the aesthetic feature. Is this really going to make you happier? They usually have a story behind it, and it’s interesting trying to find that out. It helps us understand each other. Everybody loves looking good, and I enjoy helping people feel good about themselves, whether it’s a physical or emotional aspect.”
The aesthetic industry can be a bit overwhelming with all there is to offer, especially for newcomers to any particular treatment. But Eman takes a special one-on-one approach to guide each patient in the right direction to get where they want to be while focusing on realistic expectations.
“The beauty industry is very diverse. There’s everything out there from fillers to Botox® to creams, etc., and everybody’s promising big results,” she said. “I tend to not over promise. I like to under promise and over deliver as much as I can. Sometimes changes are subtle, and for other people, it’s drastic. They didn’t realize it could change not only their outward appearance but how they feel about themselves. At Pristine Rejuvenation, you’re not going to see a different provider every time. You’re always going to be with me and I’m going to personally walk you through this journey.”
Now established at a state-of-the-art physical location in beautiful West Bloomfield, Eman continues to develop comprehensive treatment plans based on not only the patient’s desires but her own knowledgeable recommendations. But don’t expect her to just blindly give you what you want if she knows it won’t fall in line with your wishes.
“You may need something else treated first to make you look as natural as possible,” Eman said. “I won’t do anything that I don’t feel confident or comfortable will make the client look as natural and as rejuvenated as possible. I want to do something that’s going to give them a natural enhancement and not make them look overdone or fake. Nobody wants to look like they’ve had work done. They just want to look better.”
That stance may result in turning some patients away on rare occasions.
“I don’t want to just take a patient’s money,” Eman said. “Sometimes a person may need surgery to obtain the results they want. At the end of the day, I want my patient to be truly happy with their results, and I want to be proud of the work I’ve done to help get them there.”
In the rare event Eman (a busy mom) has spare time, she enjoys riding her bike and activities like jet skiing and roller blading. If she can squeeze in some quiet time for reading, she loves studying up on the Renaissance era as well as WWII.
